KCW

I am so exciting to be participating even if I am currently coming up short on finished products. I love the premise, one hour a day for a week. Although most weeks I am doing that anyway, the intentional community aspect has really changed the way I felt about the time and the pursue of a garment. It is so inspiring to see the work of all these talented makers

The pattern I used is from the Etsy shop Too Sweet, here is the this pattern, it is the same one I used to make doll dress and the fabric was newly acquired here.

We'll see what else happens before the close on Tuesday.

THE PERFECT HAT

While visiting my sister I was able to try on her whole winter collection and fell in love with this hat. It truly is perfect for me, soft a little stretchy, very chic. I can always use a little more chic in my life. Oh and it can home with me. Thanks sis!

She also has a great tumblr - check it out

SISTER TIME

a rare and wonderful solo visit with my uber talented sister

THE TAKE AWAY

Madelinetosh yarnNo.6 boots (oh I have wanted these for so long it is silly), Why People Photograph by Robert Adams, Kokka fabricNani Iro fabric, two skeins of Koigu yarn, Take Care post card collection by Nikki McClure

Almost all I collected while in NYC, thinking of knitting this hat or this one, oh and socks. I have never made socks, I was thinking it could be the perfect project for this spring /summer when all my regular supplies will be packed away. Like I already said those boots, wow I have been wanting them for too long, every season that has come and gone, I have debated them. Quite relieved to have this behind me. So excited about this new to me Robert Adams book, he is always my go to writer on photographer and in truth the idea taking a literary break from parenting books would probably be healthy.

2/52

a portrait of my children, once a week, every week in 2014

Getting into the swing of taking pictures all the time is not easy. And wow is that a hard statement to hear myself say, boy has my world changed. Although in reality I think it is the portraits idea that is challenging. I never was that into taking pictures of people - quite, stark still-lives much more my style. But it sure feels good to begin a new practice.

a portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014

a new year, new momentum. I am so excited to be participating in the 52 project.

Home this week still on vacation from school and music class.  The last few days have been so cold,  we spent most of our time indoors, decluttering, packing and sorting or thinking about it. With a little warmer winds we grabbed our sleds and headed out to the little mole hill in our backyard. It is still amazing to me that this urban industrial landscape is their normal.

2014!

Happy New Year

I am not a big resolutions person but I do enjoy any opportunity to make a list or solve a problem and that is what this time of year seems all about. And coming out of the holidays it feels like an important time to regroup and figure out how we are going to get through this winter as graciously as possible.
